Days 1 - 3

Welcome to Australia! Today, we embark on a short drive to Bendigo, the vibrant host city of the Australian Sheep & Wool Show. Over the next four days, immerse yourself in all the festival has to offer, including, a bustling Marketplace featuring approximately 400 vendors. Get ready for an unforgettable experience celebrating the best of wool, fibre and craftsmanship! Overnight in Bendigo.


Days 4-5

We journey west and step back in time to experience a historic farm where old-world charm meets modern luxury. Enjoy a fascinating knitting workshop with Knicoleknits,  a guided farm tour and a delightful wine tasting. This beautiful property offers the perfect setting for a cozy knit gathering, making it a memorable stop on our adventure! Overnight at Unique Stay in Rural Victoria

Days 6-7

Before heading towards The Great Ocean Road  we'll meet with local indigenous guides at Tower Hill to gain an understanding of traditional Aboriginal lifestyles.  Afterwards we'll travel along one of the world’s most scenic coastal drives, stretching 243 km (151 miles)  offering stunning ocean views, lush rainforests, and iconic landmarks. We'll travel inland to visit a Sheep Farm, one of Victoria's oldest surviving homesteads with an expierence that blends farming, craft, heritage and is the birthplace of Australia's first breed of sheep - Polwarth.

Day 8

Today, we say goodbye to the breathtaking Great Ocean Road and set off towards Phillip Island, traveling via the scenic Mornington Peninsula. Along the way, we’ll pause for a delightful lunch and wine tasting, savouring the flavours of the region. This evening promises to be a wildlife highlight as we witness the world-famous Penguin Parade. From our prime viewing spot, we’ll watch in awe as hundreds of little penguins waddle past, making their way home along the well-known Penguin Highway; a truly unforgettable experience!

Days 9-10

We’ll make our way back to Melbourne, a dynamic city celebrated for its arts, culture, food, and world-class coffee scene. Melbourne’s laneways and arcades are iconic attractions, filled with hidden gems that showcase history, street art, boutique shopping, and vibrant cafés. These winding alleys and heritage arcades offer a unique charm with each step. We’ll have free time to visit Morris & Sons, a local yarn shop and will partake in a Shadow Knits class with Australian, Mark Jamieson.

Day 11

After a late check-out, we'll embark on one of Australia’s most iconic travel experiences, the Spirit of Tasmania and make our way across Bass Strait.

Days 12-17

Over the span of 6 days, we'll explore some of Tasmania's most stunning regions, starting with Cradle Mountain & St Clair National Park, followed by Freycinet National Park, Port Arthur Historic Site, and finishing in Hobart.

Our fibre experiences include visits to Louie & Lola, the Tasmanian Wool Centre, Bombed Yarn, and Salamanca. Plus, we’ll fit in a Virtual Ask Patty class - get your questions ready.

Day 18-22

We fly to Sydney, the perfect place to wrap up our unforgettable knit retreat. Over the next four days, we’ll enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of one of the world’s most beautiful cities. We’ll catch up with our friends, the Skein Sisters, and indulge in a scenic Sydney Harbour dinner cruise.

Experience the magic of the iconic Sydney Opera House with a guided tour, harbour cruise and marvel at the world’s largest opal. You’ll also have a free day to explore Sydney at your own pace, discovering hidden gems and local delights.

We'll enjoy our final class with Knicoleknits here in Sydney; a perfect ending to an amazing journey!
